Donna Henderson Bailey

Donna was born in New Jersey. She has always loved the outdoors and the beauty of nature. Family outings to the beach and summers on her grandparent's farm are fondly remembered. At 11, her travels began with a move to Mississippi. She has lived in Japan, numerous cities in the United States, Belgium, and is now living in Santa Fe, New Mexico. 

Donna enjoyed art in school and when she retired decided to give watercolors a try. In 2000, she and her husband were off to Europe and, with encouragement from a friend, Donna began taking art classes from Belgian artist, Jean Rigaux. This was her first attempt at painting with oils. It is so rewarding to capture the substance of nature with the feel and appearance of texture that oils provide. While Donna's subjects vary, she is drawn to landscapes but also enjoys still-life and portraiture painting.
