Gene Mascoli

“I have had a passion for art since I was a young man. But I didn't have the time nor aptitude to create my own work. My retirement six years ago gave me time to reinvent myself. I began to explore the creation of my own art. I dabbled with various mediums and was drawn towards colored pencil portraits and scenes. Though I use pastels for my backgrounds, all my work now is colored pencil. I most enjoy doing horses and birds, occasionally other animals, and flowers. Doing pieces for me is very relaxing. Most days you’ll find me in my studio, listening to classical music, sipping coffee, and working the pencils."
